CuraRad™ AI Development Services
CuraRad AI Development Services supply medical imaging AI expertise and technical capabilities to healthcare organizations to create their own quality and productivity innovations using computer vision, machine learning, natural language processing, and other advanced informatics.
Machine learning and model development
Our team of computer vision deep learning experts can create software models that can interpret medical images. By careful construction of convolutional neural networks and other machine learning techniques, we can build executable software to classify, segment, measure, and create text descriptions of objects of interest found within medical images. These models can then be validated against new data, creating evidence of clinical effectiveness
Software application services
Building secure, scalable, usable AI applications requires much more than the AI algorithms. Our software engineering team has strong experience building applications using advanced user interfaces, server technologies, and cyber security for deployment across the cloud, mobile devices, and more. Our software engineers are accustomed to cloud-first and mobile-first deployment strategies. Our quality management system is ISO 13485 certified and we received a CE mark for our first software medical device.
Custom integration services
Bringing AI serves into the clinical workflow often involves integration with PACS, VNAs, EMRs, DICOM Routers, Enterprise Worklists, and other existing IT solutions. Accomplishing seamless integration requires expertise in such technologies as RESTful APIs, HL7, FHIR, and proprietary interfaces. We bring experts into projects capable of solving the interoperability challenges so that the promise of AI can be brought the last mile into practical use.
Health data de-identification services
HIPAA requires organizations who receive Protected Health Information (PHI) to apply both technical and administrative controls to protect the security and privacy of this data. We have implemented such controls so that a dedicated, separated team can de-identify PHI in a highly controlled environment and then export it to a larger AI team in a PHI-cleansed state, thus limiting risks and allowing its use for research and other compliant applications.
Image annotation and post-processing services
Our imaging analytics operations center provides cost-effective annotation and reporting services. The DICOM image files are sent to the center where they are processed by our trained technical staff working under radiologist supervision. We can respond to special projects and other customer needs for research related image annotations and reports.
Clinical validation study design
For the first three years of our company’s existence we have developed our own software medical devices. These efforts have contributed to a body of knowledge within the company about the design of clinical validation studies for software medical devices. We can apply this experience to custom development projects for our healthcare customers.
Human-centered design services
Our human centered design team can work with customers to deeply understand workflow, end-user needs, and other human factors in the design of new AI solutions. This is a conscious break from the all-too-common practice of designing IT solutions without collaboration with those who use it.
Regulatory pathway analysis
Our product development team has experience reviewing FDA device summaries and exploring alternative predicate devices for possible use in 510k submissions. This can be useful to our customers who may need to pursue regulatory clearance or approvals for their software medical devices.
Unique and Cost Effective
Existing commercial off-the shelf (COTS) medical image analysis products are often limited. In-house agile development brings the advantages of being tailored, cost effective, and uniquely valuable. By teaming with CuraCloud on internal development projects the organization can get exactly what they find most useful to their patients and to their customers.
Competitive Advantage for Healthcare Organizations
Healthcare organizations can speed their internal AI development efforts, gaining access to top talent to produce differentiating capabilities valued by their stakeholders.
Customers can directly deploy new capabilities in a compliant manner while creating evidence of clinical effectiveness for possible publication and/or for submission to the FDA as a software medical device.
Customers may gain exclusive access to advanced clinical solutions. Combined with other innovations, AI can deliver a sustained competitive advantage for healthcare organizations.
